About me…
I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and psychoanalytic psychotherapist based in Pittsburgh. Before becoming a therapist, I studied Creative Writing and Religion at The New School in New York. My curiosity about narrative and belief evolved into an interest in the unconscious and emotional dimensions of human life.
I received my Master of Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh, then went on to study psychodynamic psychotherapy with the Pittsburgh Psychoanalytic Center. I later completed a two-year postgraduate training program with the Western Pennsylvania Center for Psychoanalytic Therapies, and continue advanced analytic study through the International Psychotherapy Institute (IPI), where I am focusing on Object Relations theory.
In addition to my psychoanalytic training, I am currently completing certification in sex therapy through the Sexual Health Alliance (SHA), leading toward AASECT certification. This program deepens my work with individuals and couples around issues of desire, intimacy, and sexual identity. I approach these themes from both a psychoanalytic and sex-informed perspective—helping people explore the emotional and relational meanings of their sexual experiences, rather than focusing only on behavior or performance.
I also meet regularly for clinical supervision and peer consultation, and provide case consultation to other therapists.
My office is located in Point Breeze, where I offer psychotherapy and more intensive psychoanalytic treatment as well as couples and sex therapy.
I see psychotherapy as an evolving practice — one that asks both patient and therapist to stay curious and responsive to what unfolds between them. Our inner lives don’t exist apart from the world around us; they’re shaped by culture, media, and the stories we absorb and repeat. The images, ideals, and language of our time influence how we love, how we desire, and how we understand ourselves. Staying in conversation with these forces keeps the work alive for me.
